Hi Sign Hunters,
The "not an actual blog post" spontaneously developed series is here again. Similarly to the previously published posts on the Chinese, English and Welsh settlement signs, this is a good 'virtual place' for you to come to find our photos of settlement sign in collections. The last few times, I posted our favourite sign photos of England and Wales and since the United Kingdom is composed of four main countries (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland), this time we will remain in the UK and carry on my favourite sign photos of Scotland. The Scottish photo collection is the smallest selection among the UK ones (except for Northern Ireland, which is currently stands on zero as we have never been there before), so there are only a few photos here. The collection will definitely improve in the future, so if you are interested, then keep an eye on full collection (click here).
In Scotland, all settlement boundary signs are usually black and white (black font, white background), but - like everywhere else - larger and more significant places may have different designs. Just like the previous times, the selection includes welcome signs, city limit signs, boundary signs, places, and anything else that have administrative boundaries and have signs. I call all of these 'settlement signs'.
